Associate Scientist – NJ-PM0910 (Central NJ)

Description

New Jersey Biotech Company is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our NJ laboratory for a night shift position. The ideal candidate must have a BS or MS in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. The candidate should be highly organized, independent, self-motivated, and able to multi-task and follow Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) closely. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills are required.



Responsibilities:

• Carry out DNA sequencing services, including: receipt and organization of samples, preparation of reaction log, setting up reactions, post-reaction preparations, set-up of capillary electrophoresis and related tasks.

• Prepare sequencing template, including: DNA transformation, preparation and amplification and PCR purification.

• Perform routine maintenance of DNA sequencers.

• Be aware of sequence data extraction and analysis procedures.

• Check inventory and replenish consumable sequencing supplies. Prepare buffers and related solutions.

• Learn sequencing data analysis.

• Communicate with customers by phone and e-mail in a friendly and professional manner.

• Assist with simple troubleshooting efforts.

• Follow SOPs and guidance of supervisors.

• Be an effective team-player committed to company goals



Requirements

The position requires the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. Ideal candidates must be motivated, organized and disciplined with record keeping. Strong oral and verbal communication skills are essential.



Qualifications

BS in biological sciences or related discipline

1+ years of previous lab experience is preferred

Service Specialists deliver our EcoSensitive Pest Prevention services to our commercial clients Perform daily route travel to client facilities Interaction with clients on a regular basis Conduct regular inspections of client facilities This is a Baker's Shift position, but may include some Night Shifts or Weekend on-call work

Operations Technician (Somerset, NJ)

Company located in Somerset is looking for an Operations Technician. This is a night shift position from 7pm to 7am, Wednesday - Saturday, plus any requited overtime. This is a temp to perm position.

Job Description:
** Perform set-ups, repair and troubleshooting.
** Perform upgrade, rebuild and improve assembly secondary equipment.
** Maintain set-up and change over component.
** Move machinery on production floor to best suit production needs.
** Train and instruct Assembly Mechanics.

Job Requirements:
** Five years mechanical experience with assembly/packing equipment.
** Good troubleshooting skills...mechanical, pneumatics and electrical. (Single & 3ph AC, AC/DC circuitry, relays, sensors on fiber optics)
** Experience in welding and machining.
** Read schematics...electrical, mechanical and pneumatics.
** Willingness and ability to learn new techniques and concepts.
** Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate safe work habits.
** Have good communication skills...be able to multitask and to work with minimal supervision.

Education:
** High school graduate - Mechanical, Pneumatics and Electrical trade school minimum education required.
