DUTIES:(The duties described reflect the full performance level of this position)The purpose of the position is to provide night-shift supervision and direction to Job Corps students. The incumbent independently makes decisions for all emergencies that may arise during the midnight tour of work. Directs the activities of staff assigned to the midnight shift, insuring that duties are carried out in accordance with multiple federal and state agency regulations as well as Center Operating Procedures. Works with students and staff to insure a safe and secure living environment. Encourages student input and feedback. Oversees the early morning activities of students to maintain order and safety. Coordinates between shifts, serving as the point of contact for the night shift while providing training and technical guidance. Periodically checks all buildings; conducts student accountability checks and provides administration with accurate reports. Participates with other staff and students to set standards and goals for residential services.

• Runs the nightly Audit reports
• Walks the hallways and ensures that the property is properly secured
• Handles incoming guest reservations via phone. Takes reservations accurately and neatly
• Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests. Handles credit, initial parking information, and an overview of guest services.
• Serves as a primary liaison to guests Handles stressful situations; makes mature and knowledgeable decisions. Handles all guest complaints or problems
• Serves as hotel phone operator and directs all calls to the proper extensions. Receives, transmits and racks telephone messages
• Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests’ shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions. Makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arranges for tours
• Handles all guest service requests. Takes room service orders and directs appropriate staff member to assemble and deliver the order
• Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts.
• Uses 10-key adding machine and switchboard
• Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
• Inputs daily hotel activity in Home Office as required via internet
• Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone to guest accounts
• Balances daily or shift audit on the billing computer. Maintains appropriate bank, issued to each individual
• Assists guests with depositing their valuables in safe deposit boxes
• Cleans and organizes the front desk area

We are paying $9/hr or 25% commission (whichever is greater). Thus far, our brand new sales people average about $13/hr for a 6-hour shift. More experienced sellers/demo sellers average about $20/hr. No sales experience necessary, but helpful. Training is provided.
