ESSENTINAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Availability - Weekdays (Morning to 7pm), and Weekends:
Grocery stores are busiest at two times ? after people get off work and on the weekends.
You?ll need to be flexible and available to work these shifts.
Ideal availability is from 6 am to 9 pm, Sunday through Saturday.
Depending on our needs, a shift could have you working early in the morning, getting the store ready to open, helping customers, or even at night to close the store.
Customer service skills:
You will be helping busy and hurried customers in addition to managing other customer service issues. You need to enjoy being around people all day long! Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds:
You may be required to restock shelves which include rice, canned goods, or other heavy items.
Uniform:
Marukai will provide you with a logo polo shirt and logo apron (if necessary) to wear with your own black pants and dark shoes. Pretty comfortable!
Not only will you be working with everyone from babies, students, to retirees, you?re going to have a lot of fun learning about Japanese culture and learning skills that are transferable to any retail setting.

Looking for one or more persons to join our small team. We are entering a slow season right now but due to employee turnover we do have positions open. We are hoping that the right candidate can join us now and be fully trained and independant by the time things pick up again in late December.Work involved is diverse and ranges everywhere from serving customers to stocking, production, cleaning, etc. Proper attitude and flexibility are key to being successful in this business.
Pay is not terribly good but customers do tip very generously if you demonstrate the right attitude and work ethic.
Due to our small size and current level of business, we will expect employees to be able to work solo during night shifts where we do not expect to be busy.
