Healthy Blocks Program Manager (Rochester (+Geneva))

Position Title: Healthy Blocks Program Manager
Position Status: Full Time, Exempt
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Direct Reports: Healthy Blocks staff and interns
Salary Range: $29,000 - $35,000

The Healthy Blocks Program Manager position oversees the Healthy Block program which targets transitional neighborhoods with the goal of creating neighborhoods of choice managed by residents engaged in the on-going social and economic reinvestment of their neighborhood.

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Program Implementation

• Work with supervisor to develop long and short term strategic plans to achieve Healthy Blocks goals and outcomes, as well as assist with program evaluation
• Oversee the day-to-day implementation of the Healthy Blocks program in both Rochester and Geneva
• Assist in developing & maintaining neighborhood and community partnerships critical to the success of the program
• Perform all supervisory functions for staff and interns assigned to the Healthy Blocks program
• Oversee program volunteers
• Identify residents for leadership development and provide support for on-going social engagement activities
• Assist in the organization & implementation of neighborhood events and activities that align with Healthy Blocks' mission to improve physical conditions, social connections and neighborhood image
• Oversee & implement program evaluation activities
• Organize & participate in Healthy Blocks related neighborhood and community meetings
• Manage all reporting requirements for the program
• Market and promote NeighborWorks® Rochester's programs and services
• Manage the Healthy Blocks program budget
• Assure integration of Healthy Blocks with other NeighborWorks Rochester programs and services
• Assist with resource development for Healthy Blocks, including grant writing and proposal development where appropriate


General Organizational Tasks

• Assure that customer service is a priority with all customers that come in contact with NeighborWorks® Rochester
• Maintain strong working relationships with all NeighborWorks® Rochester partners and volunteers
• Represent NeighborWorks® Rochester in the community in a manner that will foster and cultivate strong working relationships with volunteers, partners, media, donors and sponsors
• Maintain knowledge of Rochester's neighborhood associations, community groups, available housing and community development programs and resources, as well as social and economic trends affecting neighborhoods
• Assist with departmental data collection, reporting and administrative tasks as required
• Other tasks that may be required to fulfill the objectives of the program and agency
• Participation in NeighborWorks® Rochester staff meetings, initiatives, and special projects.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven customer service attitude
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft applications, is a must
• Team player
• Superior organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with nights and weekends required
• Transportation necessary and valid drivers license required
• Ability to attend job related training as needed
• Experience in community organizing and/or implementation of community programs
• Program/project management experience
• Awareness of community issues and trends
• Able to work effectively with diverse populations
• Experience in coordinating community initiatives, events and activities
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Branding/marketing, social media and real estate background helpful
• Ability to work independently.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in planning, public administration, political science, sociology or other related field, with knowledge of community development activities and issues relative to the City of Rochester and Greater Rochester region. Bilingual capacity is desirable.

• Perform Remote Access/VPM issues (RVA, SecurID fob administration, etc.)
• Perform follow-up call-backs with customers.
• Work with Help Desk Ticketing System by opening, monitoring, ensure accurate cataloguing and successfully closing the trouble ticket
• Remote diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
• Keep up-to-date on all processes and troubleshooting procedures.

These are a few things that you would need to have or do:

• Have a High School Education or equivalent experience
• Have 3+ years of computer monitoring/maintenance experience/ and or Helpdesk experience
• Successfully complete an employment verification and pass a criminal background check
• Not required but a plus if you have a MCP, A+, MCSE and other Certifications
