Candidates must be able to withstand working on their feet for 5-8hrs and can lift more than 50lbs. SUMMARY
The Lead Line Cook is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of a large volume production kitchen that produces hot and cold prepared foods for a showcase deli and hot bar, as well as retail. This person will be responsible for producing and maintaining a certain standard and quality that A Southern Season is known for. The Lead Line Cook will be very comfortable with an in house made kitchen and able to produce soups, stocks, sauces, dishes, all from scratch. The Lead Line Cook is expected to work creatively, independently and efficiently alongside their fellow line cooks -- this position is one of elevated knowledge and skill, but will require no supervisory or instructional skills.

• Responsible for assisting in daily production of all prepared foods, hot and cold.
• Able to create and execute a variety of dishes, soups, sauces.
• Able to work quickly, organizing ingredients and prep list to maximize time
• Ensures that all recipes and prepared foods as well as presentation meets specifications and commitment to quality.
• Able to engage customers and assist retail deli when necessary.
• Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen.
• Responsible for assisting in food production for catered and large events.
• Responsible for proper rotation and usage of stock, ensuring FIFO.
• Able to perform additional duties, although not yet detailed, as requested by the Chef at any time.

Pet Store Retail Cashier/Sales Position (Cary, NC)

Cashier/Sales person needed for high end pet store. Prior retail experience is a must. Prior pet retail work or pet nutrition knowledge is preferred.

Our employees are responsible for taking care of the in-house pets including feeding, watering, handling and cleaning cages (don't be alarmed - there are only 2). Ideal candidate will also be responsible for giving nutritional advice to customers as needed - training is provided. They will need to learn about the products we offer, the benefits of one food/supplement vs others, tips on training, pet care, etc. All employees will be trained on the register and be responsible for ringing out customers so prior cash handling experience is needed.

Obviously, owning pets is a requirement for this job. We want you to have first hand knowledge of pet care - not just read about it.

Ideal team member will be a self starter, organized, courteous, outgoing and honest. We are an upscale pet store - employees will be neatly dressed wearing company provided T-Shirts and clean jeans/khakis, shorts. Clean cut/shaven, closed toes shoes, not overly pierced. You must have the ability to get your work done with limited supervision. Good customer service skills are an absolute requirement - we pride ourselves on the quality of service we provide our customers; no exceptions. Must be able to pass a background check - tell us about it at your interview, don't let us find out about it later. We are a drug free workplace - drug related charges are a deal breaker.

Must have a flexible schedule and live near the Cary/NC State area. We always take our employees schedules into consideration and work around them as much as possible. Hours will mostly be nights and weekends - MUST be available to work EVERY Sunday 12-5pm with very few exceptions. We are open 7 days a week except the following major holidays: Easter, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, New Years Day. Hours to start will probably be around 20 - we can not guarantee a set amount of hours as we are still a growing company but hopefully will be able to do so very soon down the road if sales continue to improve.

Must be 18 years or older to apply. We are a growing company and would love to have an energetic new team member. If you stick with us on the way up, we will reward your for your hard work. We are a family owned business, so there's no corporate BS going on here. There is definately room to grow for the right person. Pay starts at $8.00/hr with opportunity for a raise at 90 days based on performance.
