FREELANCE WEB DEVELOPER/DESIGNER NEEDED – temp to full time (Midtown)

Pulse Creative is currently searching for a versatile FREELANCE WEB DEVELOPER/DESIGNER who wants to expand their knowledge of the web design world, are ENTREPRENURIAL in spirit, can handle multi-tasking, are RESPONSIBLE, work EFFICIENTLY, communicate EFFECTIVELY, and EXPLORE NEW HORIZONS IN THE INTERACTIVE WORLD. Above all, we want an individual who loves what they do and has fun doing it.

As a Freelance Web Developer/Designer at Pulse Creative, you'll be working closely with the Lead Web Developer & Design Team to develop, design create and maintain websites and pertinent web assets such as banners, flash features, etc:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Expert skills with XHTML, PHP5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery (or similar framework), UNIX shell, SQL, and XML
- Experience translating comps and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates
- Experience with integration of social media environments - Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, and so on
- Experience Developing E-newsletters/HTML based emails, web banners (HTML, animated GIFs and Flash)
- Strong SEO/SEM awareness
- Understanding of how to optimize emails and websites across various browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.), operating systems, consumer devices, and ESPs
- Advanced knowledge & experience with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Dreamweaver
- Knowledge of emerging web trends and their advantages/limitations with them (i.e., HTML5)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite

OTHER SKILLS PREFERRED BUT NOT NECESSARY:
- Experience with CMS/E-commerce development and management (AJAX, Joomla!, Drupal, Wordpress, Magento)
- Experience with Actionscripting and Flash
- Familiarity with Django or Moveable Type is a plus
- Knowledge of mobile/app development a plus

MUST HAVE:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and must be detail-oriented and organized
- Excellent time management, team work and problem solving skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
- Passion for new web design/development trends
- 2-5 years prior work experience

Agency experience is preferred and you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Hours are typically from 10am - 6pm, but late nights and weekends are sometimes needed to meet the deadlines. This position has the potential to be full-time.
