Position Purpose:

Gate Guards
Brief Position Description: Officers at gates will be responsible for ensuring that individuals entering site are properly authorized to do so by checking their site passes.

Necessary Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications: Gate Guards must be able to effectively communicate with patrons and participants and provide excellent customer service. Superior inter-personal skills and self-confidence are required. The ability to calmly and politely approach problem individuals without becoming intimidated or aggravating a problem is necessary. Physically, gate guards must be able to stand or sit outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for at least 12 hours a day. Gate Guards must be at least 18 years of age. Two way radio use is required. Individuals must pass a background check required for security officers.

Dress Code: Gate guards shall wear a Safety Services T-shirt, Festival T-shirt, or other festival appropriate attire. Appropriate bottom attire such as shorts, long pants / jeans, or kilts, are required.

Night Patrol Officers
Brief Position Description: Night patrol officers will be on duty from approximately 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. the nights before show days and from 6:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. the morning after a show day. Night security officers will frequently patrol the site to ensure the safety of the site and participants, and they will check locks, taps and freezer/refrigerator temperatures on all Festival-owned property. They will also maintain the log and remain available for individuals with problems or concerns.

Necessary Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications: The ability to calmly and politely approach problem individuals without becoming intimidated or aggravating a problem is necessary. The ability to calmly, politely, and efficiently respond to a medical situation is also necessary. Security and/or medical experience/training in a non-Festival environment is desirable but not required. Physically, night crew must be able to be on their feet consistently for 12 hours per day in a variety of outdoor conditions. As fast response times are occasionally required, ability to move quickly across site is desirable. Night crew staff must be at least 18 years of age. Two way radio use is required. Individuals must pass a background check required for security officers.

Dress Code: Same as gate guard, above.

Day Security Officers also known as Sitewalkers
Brief Position Description: The primary function of sitewalkers is to provide a security point of contact and visible presence for patrons and participants during festival hours, and respond to situations that have caused or could cause distress to patrons or participants. Medical and security-related situations on site are most often handled by sitewalkers.

Necessary Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications: Sitewalkers must be able to effectively communicate with patrons and participants and provide excellent customer service. Superior inter-personal skills and self-confidence are required. The ability to calmly and politely approach problem individuals without becoming intimidated or aggravating a problem is necessary. The ability to calmly, politely, and efficiently respond to a medical situation is also necessary. Sitewalkers must have the ability to make fast yet accurate and defensible judgment calls regarding medical- and/or security-related situations. To do so, they must have knowledge of Safety Services procedure, knowledge of general law enforcement/first aid, and the ability to quickly and easily assess a situation.

Security and/or medical experience/training in a non-Festival environment are desirable but not required. Physically, sitewalkers must be able to be on their feet consistently for 12 hours per day in a variety of outdoor conditions. Scope:
