1st ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER (JACKSONVILLE, FL)

SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Store Manager in order to achieve or exceed planned sales and profits. In the absence of the Store Manager, has the responsibility for the overall operation of the store by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist Store Manager in all areas of store operations
• To be knowledgeable of company policies and procedures and assist the Store Manager in enforcement
• In absence of Store Manager, be aware of and complete all daily tasks without disrupting normal store operations
• Report any issues with associates or operations of the store to the Store Manager
• Ensure that all cash handling procedures are followed at all times per company policy
• Approves checks, refunds and voids in absence of the Store Manager
• Responsible for the timely and safe deposit of all store funds in a designated bank
• Assists Store Manager with completion of any tasks requested according to company guidelines
• Participate in monthly store meetings with store associates
• Responsible for proper receipt of and processing of store freight shipments
• Must secure store keys at all times
• Responsible for proper processing of all daily and weekly paperwork and balancing of registers
• Takes all markdowns and price adjustments in a timely manner according to company policy
• Responsible for store physical inventory results
• Aware of causes of inventory shrinkage, insures all loss prevention policies are followed
• Ensures all actions are taken and implemented to insure acceptable inventory shrink results for the store
• Maintains high audit scores as acceptable per company policy
• Maintain clean, organized store and stockroom in accordance with current merchandising directives and standards
• Abide by and set example for all company policies, procedures and safety issues
• Maintains high standards of customer service including greeting customers and efficiently and accurately recording all transactions
• Responsible for efficient use of budgeted payroll dollars/hours and utilizing associates with flexible availability
• Maintains accurately all logs and documentation required by Operations, Merchandising, Human Resources and Loss Prevention departments
• Enforces procedures and policies which uphold the efficiency of the store including, but not limited to customer layaways, customer refunds and exchanges

After three or more years of working in retail, you're ready for the next step. Following successful completion of the two-week training period, you'll be where the action is, assisting the Store Manager in the overall operation of the store. REQUIREMENTS:
• Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing Commercial, Industrial and Residential HVAC & R systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Valid driver's license
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• This position requires working outdoors and possible extreme weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration.

• HVAC certification or universal certification preferred

The Harbor Dispatcher functions will include the following:

* Direct all drivers for the pick up and/or delivery of containers.
* Monitor and answer dispatch phones
* Availability / tracing of harbor and rail containers
* Contacting customers for delivery appointments
* Contacting steamship lines to verify export bookings or empty container returns

Job & Skills Requirements:

* Working knowledge of Dispatching Solutions availability and dispatch on VI System is a plus (We will train)
* Real time input of pickup and delivery information in VI system
* Must be willing to work days nights and or weekends
* Knowledge of Harbor, Rail, & Steamship Line requirements a must
* Thorough knowledge of all office procedures
* Fully qualified in computer skills for Microsoft Office especially in Word and Excel
* Must be DETAIL ORIENTED
