Restaurant Manager (Sheraton Charleston Airport Hotel )

The Sheraton Charleston Aiport Hotel is a 289 room full service hotel which includes a full service restaurant, bar, and room services. The Restaurant Manager position will be responsible for these outlet areas. Duties will include but is not liited to the following:

Select, train, supervise, counsel and discipline restaurant staff for the efficient operation of the outlet. Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes. Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments.

Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. Answer telephones in a clear voice, coordinate and document reservations. Organize special events in the restaurant such as receptions. Maintain communication with all departments to ensure customer service needs are met.

Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met. Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.

Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall hotel operation. Control payroll and equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse). Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies and stocking shelves by stooping, bending, lifting heavy articles and reaching overhead. Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation. Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures.

Utilize prescribed cash handling procedures to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence.

Provide clean and safe environment by assigning and assisting with cleaning

Assist servers, bussers and host staff in their job duties as necessary due to outlet volume.

Specific Job Knowledge and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of Food & Beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.

Considerable skill in math and algebraic equations using percentages.

Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions

Must be completely flexible to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications/Experience

• Repacking bottles of product into special packages for special promotional programs.
• Perform the cleaning and maintenance duties as may be directed by the warehouse supervisor.
• Assist in physical inventories and cycle counting as directed.
• Observes safe product handling techniques. Cooperates with supervisors and peers alike.
• Is punctual, detailed oriented and consistently available for work. Various other duties, as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Answers incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
• Takes accurate messages.
• Maintains Customer Satisfaction scores at or above company standards.
• Directs calls to the appropriate department or person.
• Greets customers as they enter the dealership showroom.
• Directs customers to the appropriate department or person.
Job Requirements
• Receptionist experience preferred but not required
• Nights/Weekends
• Professional appearance and good communications skills
• Basic computer skills a plus
• Proven track record
• Strong record of positive Customer service results
• Team oriented
• Submit to and successfully complete MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
