Scope:
Cleans and inspects public areas to ensure hotel cleanliness standards are met.
Primary Responsibilities:
Inspects all public areas to ensure cleanliness standards have been met; reports any problem areas to supervisor.
Assists room attendant with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens. Delivers linens and necessary supplies to room attendants.
Shampoos carpets, strips and waxes floors throughout the hotel.
Cleans designated areas such as lobby, public rest-rooms, public areas and back of house areas on hotel property.
Collects trash throughout the hotel including room attendants' carts, vending and room service areas, offices and rest rooms.
Responds to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, roll-a-ways, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Follows company policies and procedures.

Field Rep- insurance work (Albany)
Our company is based in Buffalo, New York. We have field rep’s throughout the Northeast. We do work for insurance companies. We visit “risks” and assess them for the underwriters.
You will be trained how to do these assessments. The training takes approximately 3 months- but the learning process continues for several years!
You must be an extremely friendly person! Insurance companies worry a great deal that the people we send out may somehow offend one of their ‘insureds’- and this can be devastating to our company growth. Everyone you meet (on this job) should end up easily liking you! You should never lose your temper- even if a particular insured is not a nice person- or even if that insured says something offensive to you! You must be ‘unflappable’!
Your weekly work schedule will be something like this; Monday you receive your assignments (there is NO selling involved with this job- we send you your weekly assignments) and ‘map them up’ and ‘make appointment calls’. You work from home on Mondays and only work about 4 or 5 hours. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are ‘road days’. We have an agreement with ‘Enterprise’- you use rental cars to do your field visits. We provide you with a company credit card- to buy gas or pay any expenses you might have. Nothing comes “out of your pocket”. Road days are long days- they can require you to work up to about 12 hours! We do not control where the assignments are- we do (somewhat) control where we will send YOU…but be aware it could be as far away as Plattsburgh or Boston or Westchester! If you need to spend the night, somewhere, on Tuesday night- then we pay for that (with the company credit card)- but mainly we do not anticipate you having to spend very many overnights. At most- it would be just the occasional Tuesday night, never two nights in the same week.
Thursday and Friday are “write up days”….you work from home and assemble the information you obtained on your road days into your finished reports. These are generally about 6 hours each day.
We do provide all needed supplies- like a measuring wheel, a camera, a clipboard, a photo id badge, business cards, etc. We are very experienced at what we do! We treat our field reps right!
We are looking for someone who is willing to make a long term commitment to our company. We invest a great deal of our time and money into training new field reps. It is quite devastating to us if that person ‘finds something better’ after being with us just a short while.
The best candidate will have a cell phone with plenty of minutes available- we do not pay for the cell phone but do require the field rep’s have one- and are readily available to insured’s (and us) pretty much all of the time! They will also have an environment where they can work undisturbed, on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays. That environment must include a late model computer and high speed internet (once again- requirements of the job but items that we do not pay for). They must also have a good driving record- as Enterprise will not rent their vehicles to persons with ‘shaky’ driving records! They should be completely comfortable using digital cameras! High quality photos are an essential part of a good report. They should also be very comfortable with ‘basic math’- particularly with square footages. If you make it to the ‘interview’ for this job you will be given a fairly complicated sketch and asked to figure out the square footage of it!
I’m asking a lot- and I realize my pay is not that great…but I am hopeful the right candidate is out there! During your first 2 weeks you won’t be ‘producing’ at all- just training with another inspector. During the next 2 weeks your production will be minimal- as you will be such a ‘rookie’. So- for those 4 weeks we can only afford to pay you $8/hour (you might get some ‘overtime’ during a couple of the weeks). After those first 4 weeks then you go on ‘salary’- at $500 per week. We do have a ‘bonus program’- and you will be eligible to make bonuses every month- although I would not expect you to be able to do so until you had been with us for at least 6 months.
